As Diwali approaches, Rakkatak is proud to collaborate with Shabdam to present “The Festival of Lights” on November 13, 2020.

Upon confirming a spot, the YouTube link will be emailed to you, and available for 7 days. The concert features: sarod maestro Indrayuddh Majumder, captivating bharatnatyam dancer Oindrila Roy Mallick and tabla virtuoso Indranil Mallick.

Proceeds from the concert will support pandemic affected artists in economic distress affected by Cyclone Amphan. Shabdam is asking for a minimum donation of $10 per participant.

We were thrilled to receive a phone call from Big City Small World radio host Errol Nazareth letting us know that the introduction of Heliosphere from Rakkatak’s album Small Pieces will be used as an opening to the show.

The song features Rex Van der Spuy on sitar, Oriana Barbato on bass, Randolph Jiminez on drums and Anita Katakkar on tabla.
